Steve, I'm no expert, but here goes. It will still create its own but
it will USE the one found in the directory pointed to by the SET
MOZILLA_HOME.

I would put the SET= in config.sys, create a dir for the profiles
pointed to by the SET=
separate from your Mozilla directory and re-boot. Then backup and delete
your current mozilla directory or maybe just rename it. Then unzip the
new version into a root dir and it will create a mozilla dir followed by
some subs. It's been a long time since I did this from scratch but at
this point you should be abe to start mozilla and it will want to create
a profile for you. Once the profile is created shut down mozilla and
copy your old bookmark file to the new profile plus anything else you
want and restart mozilla and you should be good to go. The nice thing
about MOZILL_HOME is once you have it working you don't need to worry
about overwriting bookmarks and settings when installing a new version.

I beleive you can put it anywhere you want. You definetly do not want
it in the same branch as mozilla.

I'm afraid I can't be much help here. I do know that when you move to
the gcc version you need some files from Innotek. Steve's Warpzilla page
is the place to find out about what you need and where to get them.

Regards, Jim
