If you use any version of LORD that Michael Preslar produced for Gameport,
you will get that message, with resulting LORD shutdown, every time LORD
runs maint.bat. If you have anything whatsoever inside one, this will
happen. Does not matter if the file just says {at}echo off. Seth's versions
of Lord once you've patched them for Runtime error 200 work fine with
maint.bat.
Also be sure you are using the September 08, 2002 compilation of LORD 4.07.
If you need a copy, you can get it from Preslar via email. Just write to
mpreslar{at}mailcity.com and request the betalord.zip file from him.
When Lord crashes it leaves the incoming player listed as being online. So
when they call back later, it won't let him/her into the game. Sysop has
to go into the first two player records -- which for some reason correspond
to nodes 0 and 1, and make sure the player's on_now flag is set to off. If
it is, and player is still unable to play, you'll have to ask Preslar what
to try next.

BTW, if you need a good LORD Player editor, try this one out. I released
it officially at end of February.
