I was told recently, that my grandparents and infant aunt (all Odessites),
immigrated through a German port and sailed on a German ship. The family of
three arrived on Ellis Island sometime around 1907 - 1908, they then
continued on to Vancouver, BC, Canada.

My grandmother returned to Odessa in 1909 or early 1910 and was followed
about two years later by my grandfather. Together with my father (born
1910) and my aunt (born 1906) my grandparents Manya (nee Goldberg) and
Joseph Val'tukh (Waltuck) returned (1912 or 1913) via the same route to
Vancouver, where they lived the rest of their lives.

What I'm wondering is, did anyone else's relatives travel via the same route
to the United States? If so do you know which port in Germany they may have
sailed from?

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

I'm still searching for information on Val'tukh's Villa and the meaning of
a Devenish citizen (my grandparents were referred to as this on my father's
birth certificate).

Searching: GOLDBERG / GOLDENBERG, WALTUCK / VAL'TUKH and similar names,
TARSHIS
circa 1900, Odessa, Ukraine

Sincerely
D. Walters
