Hello Wendy!
28 Apr 97, Wendy Buchanan writes to Vicki Oldfather:
WB> OK, I'll just be happy for you instead. How's that?
Wonderful. If you're ever in the area, I'd be happy to take you.
WB> Oh, I hate the thought of a flood. After the big one we had here
WB> in 1986, when the town was cut in two and there was 8 feet of
WB> river on a lot of town, we haven't been able to watch it rain
WB> for more than a day or two without getting quite antsy!
I can't blame you. We didn't have any problems whatsoever, but way too
many have, and I can't begin to imagine what they are going through.
WB> Lots of people lost a lot, and there have been so many other
WB> floods in other places since then. I hate the thought! It
WB> does a lot of damage for something as "simple" as water.
    You got it there.
WB> Is it back to normal there now? Since we had cable disconnected
WB> we don't get the weather channel, and I'm always missing the news
WB> so I don't hear about things like I used to.
It finally started to recede. But some of the folks up in Grand Forks,
ND / East Grand Forks, MN aren't going to be able to get into their homes for
weeks it sounds like. Some are now, but too many have to wait. It's the
Canada people that we have to worry for now.
Dragging it back on topic...what are you working on lately? I've
primarily been doing some small hardanger pieces and trying to figure out a
quilt pattern to do. I've got some wonderful hand dyed fabrics in a
wonderful array of colors that by using the same fabric pattern (various
colors) I want to make into a colorful quilt, and can't figure out exactly
waht I want to do.
