| subject: | MS Word for OS/2 |
Lewin, at 09:02 on Aug 26 1995, you wrote to Scott Harris... BG> Dunno why, as it's explicitly mentioned in the MS Word 5.n manuals. SH> And of course, Bill, we ALL always read the manual cover to cover before LE> But anyway - WHAT goddamn Word 5.n manuals ? The ones I have right in front of me as I type, perhaps? I'd copy the ISBNs, but I really couldn't be bothered. :) LE> Word 5.n only existed on the Macintosh. That's crap. MS Word went up to at least v5.5 (and possibly even v6.0) for the DOS-based Intel PC. Mine is version 5.0, BTW. LE> PC platforms went from Word 2.0 -> Word 6.0 at the same time Mac LE> went from Word 5.x -> Word 6.0 !! We're talking about the _DOS_ versions, not the bloody Windows ones... I will say it again, the DOS versions will also install under native OS/2 (and run as native OS/2 apps) if SETUP is run from an OS/2 prompt. QED.
