W95OSR2 is your idea of DOS eh? I grant you it is DOS, but there are cleaner, quicker ways to do drive maintainence, especially now that there are FAT32 enabled versions of DOS. What I can not find is a decent read\write HPFS driver. > > So do I gather that you were referring all along to running PQMAGIC.EXE > - not the OS/2 PM executable PQMAGICO.EXE?? I run it from a HDD so seldom that I had to review. 3.05; PQMAGIC.EXE works on 384M. PQMAGICO.EXE Works on 256M. And I just learned a trick; to get 384, I must plug in BOTH ends of the men card. I have made some small use of Version 6. Based on performance plus other tools, I have no evidence that there is anything wrong with any drive. Yet PM6 complains. First it wants to chance extended partitions - type 5, to extended - type F. No big surprise there. Then it claims LBA doesn't match CHS and wants to "fix" the CHS value. So far I have said no. DFSEE 6.11 says it doesn't need fixing. Ray ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> $9.95 domain names from Yahoo!.
