WC>Loved the bit about Korea where Sabre pilots scored kills without firing WC>a shot by scaring pilots of Mig 15's into a spin. Which brings up a point that has been going through my mind ever since I read the Article about developing the B-52 i n"Avation History" magazine. While they bragged a lot Russia was always Second best in Aircraft. But an even bigger factor was the Motivation and dedicaton of our pilots vs theres. Tehre was a neven bigger divide i ntheri Surface adn Submarine Crews that taht is for another time. We have a decided edge in kills in out favor against their planes and pilots But back to the B-52. Did you know that th origional B-52 prototype was powered by Turbo Prop Engines. And that the Russian "Bear" bomber, Their nuclear strike plane for many years, was a Rip Off copy? Qite a few of their plane designs started as Rip-Offs of the desiognes of others. As were their Engines. Like up they did a lot of studying of the German Jet engiens after WWII. The BIG difference was they actualy built and used them. Adn when they reached the end of the development on them. Always Inferior to ours by the way. They STOLE the Rolls Royce design lock stock and barrel for a more advanced engine. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA* Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/140 500 106/2000 633/267 |
