... Hello Richard,

RG>Well Aldo
RG>I turned around to see a car bumper right up
RG>to my seat and my rear wheel bent sideways. I was yelling at the
RG>driver as my bike kept moving forward. I't was a scene right out
RG>of jaws.
... That is a descriptive way of putting it. Where you riding on the
Decarie express. Which street did this happen, what day and at what
hour. Also, do you recall the color of your outfit, what where you
wearing.
... I ask that because I noticed when I wear a bright color top, drivers
seem to see me from a further distance and take more room to pass me.
RG>Finally the car stopped to
RG>my relief, and a older gentleman (I say that now) emerged from
RG>his cadillac apoligizing for his error. Rather then pressing on
RG>his brakes when he saw me, he stepped on the accelerator.
... Now your really scaring me. I thought three pedals where too much
for some drivers, now if one gets mixed up between two pedals, maybe I
should ride on the side walk on busy streets. Now I remember why I never
cross the city riding, I always take the metro to go to Lachine bike
path.
RG>God was
RG>with me that day since I received only cuts and bruises on one
RG>ankle. My worry was that I had a bike race that weekend and my
RG>rear wheel was destroyed. He paid it without any protests.
RG>Thinking back, had I fell over during the push, I would have been
RG>crushed underneath the car beast.
... No question about it, staying up was the key factor. I guess racing
experience gave you that added ability to keep it up. What class do you
race in and what races did you do. I like to go to the Lachine tuesday
night races, good show.
