Look for an HP of the 9* series. At Ebay they are utterly cheap and they 
are robust devices.

My money back guarantee they work in Dos and winos2:

HP 930c
HP 970c
HP 980c
HP 990c  (with infrared wireless working perfect here in OS/2 and eCS)

And the portable:

Hp 450c (with infrared too, but doesn't work here, duno why).
