Lynn in Florida had an experience similar to last week's reprinted story
from a September 12, 2002 Newsletter:

The story from the reader who found a childhood picture of herself taken by
her grandparents displayed in an antique shop reminded me of a similar
incident. I was browsing in a local antiques mall and came across a stack
of vintage visitorsCÇÖ guides printed by my hometown chamber of commerce.
Looking through the booklets, which were from the 1960s and '70s, I came
face-to-face with my 16-year-old self, clad in bathing suit and bare feet,
smiling shyly from the back of a boat. The photo had been taken by a local
photographer during a publicity shoot for a new waterfront development, and
appeared on the cover of the annual visitors' guide a year or two later.
My mother had kept a copy of the guide when it came out, but it was lost in
a fire many years ago. I was delighted to see it and, needless to say,
gladly paid the $2 asking price! Lynn in Florida

8. Facebook Updates
Remember that you can check out our Facebook page for some interesting
updates. Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/TIASAntiques If you
have photos of items you would like to share you can post them there as
well. You don't need a Facebook account to visit our page. If you do have
a Facebook account please "Like" us!

Also, everyday we post a "This Date In History" story on our
Facebook page, along with an item for sale on http://www.tias.com that
relates to the event. We're also highlighting one item each day that we
find particularly interesting - something that's very unusual! Check it
out!

It's always fun to see what other people own and treasure! Although we
can't put the pictures in this newsletter, please visit our Facebook page
to view the images and learn about those items.
