subject: adding a value to a table

I would like to add a value to a table. I have tried
DoCmd.RunSQL "Insert Into tblTimeSheet (id, month) Values (ID, amonth)
"
When I do this I am prompted to enter a value for amonth. I do not
want to get the value to push into the table by way of a prompt. I
would like to set the value in code, i.e.
amonth='Jan'
DoCmd.RunSQL "Insert Into tblTimeSheet (id, month) Values (ID, amonth)
"
would push Jan,

amonth='July'
DoCmd.RunSQL "Insert Into tblTimeSheet (id, month) Values (ID, amonth)
"
would push July, etc.

Does any one have any suggestions for a code modification that would
allow amonth to be set is VB code rather than by way of an input box?
Thanks,
John
