Hi Jan,
Thank you for the greetings. Cyndy and I are well but Pinky is no longer with
us. Cyndy is still looking for Pinky every day.
What happened was that Pinky (the Bourke) always spent her time on the floor
(favorite place) and one day she was behind me and not realizing she was
there I ran over her with my chair. A quick trip to the vet confirmed that
she was not going to make it. I took her home and held her for 8 hours before
she quietly slipped away. I miss her a lot since Cyndy and Pinky were more
like my children than birds.
I miss her very much but Cyndy misses her more. I have never seen a bond like
this between different species before. Cyndy looks for Pinky every day. She
calls for her all day long and spends all her time on her playpen looking in
the direction of where Pinky's cage was. She would not eat for 4 days and
still doesn't eat like she did before.
My problem now is...should I get another Bird or just wait awhile and see if
she gets over grief?
Well, so much for my news, but you asked. How was your Christmas?
Take Care
Wolf
