On Friday November 18 1994, Dean Roddey writes to Ken Kavanagh: Hello Dean! DR> The general rule to keep in mind is that (under OS/2) the process is DR> the unit of ownership. All threads within a process have access to any DR> other resource created by itself or other threads, assuming the handle DR> (or however it is represented) is visible to those threads by way of DR> the language's scoping rules. yes..thank you. I wasn't finding anything plainly stated in the docs until i opened one of my books on pm programming (real world pm programming) and it strongly hinted at the same..i've fixed the code by passing the background thread the handle to the semaphore and everything works like a charm now. Now to do the guts..file structures and entry dialogs :) Cheers, Ken --- GoldED/2 2.42.G0614* Origin: Sound Stage BBS - Live Via Satellite - (604)944-6476 (1:153/7070) SEEN-BY: 12/2442 54/54 620/243 624/50 632/348 640/820 690/660 711/409 410 413 SEEN-BY: 711/430 807 808 809 934 942 949 712/353 623 713/888 800/1 @PATH: 153/7070 3615/50 229/2 12/2442 711/409 54/54 711/808 809 934 |
