This I know about, but in our family case it is not caused by that. We
have a family history of what has been called a nervous stomach. If we
get too tired, nervous, excited, hormone activity in female side or anything
else our stomach reacts. All that acid ends up causing the ulcer. I had
one at 10 years old. My ulcer heals and comes back every 10 years or so.
My older daughter was in the hospital at 17 with a bleeding ulcer. Tests
were run and this is what they discovered. They did at one point try an
antibiotic treatment, but found that it would not work in her case. As
her personality became stronger and she started learning how to deal with
some of her emotions and learned about the manic depression, she seems to
have her stomach problems, for the most part under control. They wanted
her to see a psch. but she was a stubbord 17 year old and would not. This
is about the age we found out her problems in school (she dropped out and
later got her GED) was not laziness (which was the term back when she was
younger) she was never diagnosed ADD or ADHD, but later diagnosed as
manic depressive (she was diagnosed as having an impulse disorder at 14).
She probably is ADHD though.

I didn't think Cora's attachment to her father (not really her real father,
but she doesn't know that) was part of ADHD. Cora has real personality
changes and is very impulsive. She is now starting to come over my house
(we live across the street now) and wanting to stay with me. I'm hoping
the attachment to her father will subside since she will be going to
Head Start this September. I was curious as to whether the disorders
running in the family should be mentioned when she signs her up. They
usually do some testing before they enter head start and wondered if
mentioning this before hand will help the child though her school years.
I know this helped Jonathon until we got in a school district who hated
using the dollars putting children in special ed classes.
