 From CNET:

    AMD desktop chips score grand slam against Intel in tests

    AMD appears to be cleaning the bases when its top end chips are pitted
    against those of Intel on both performance and features. In tests by
    ZDNet's labs in Germany, AMD's top end Athlon 64 3800+ and 3500+
    microprocessors beat Intel's top end 560 and 550 Pentium 4's in a
    majority of the comparative performance benchmarks. It wasn't a clean
    sweep for AMD though--Intel chips outperformed AMD in video editing
    3D rendering, and multitasking tests.
