Hi Ed,
You read me wrong there! I was just mentioning Windows as the source of 
the information that the RS232 monitoring functions' hardware interface 
doesn't require other than a *standard* comms cable with DB9 male on one 
end and DB9 female on the other.
The software I was suggesting  [UPSDMN09D available on the LPA webpage 
or from www.os2site.com/sw/util/power/upsdmn09d.zip] is Armin's latest 
for OS/2 [files all dated 11th June 2004]! :-)
