i've been using GIGO for many years... started with it and the
"default" uucico methods and then moved up to the SMTP methods
when i got a full internet connection... that only took the addition of the
GIGOSMTP package... however, that is limited to OS/2... but something
similar can still be workable if you can locate SMTP and NNTP software that
will create BAG files for GIGO to chew on...

in fact, i'm working on something, now, that is a "filter" for
peter moylan's WEASEL OS/2 SMTP server... it'll take stuff destined for the
domain i run GIGO under and filter it against some spam filters and IP
blockers... anything that passes will be written directly to BAG files
instead of having WEASEL forward it to the GIGOSMTP server... it doesn't
eliminate a step but it does help with being able to filter stuff in
addition to what WEASEL already does while affording me the ability to
filter stuff to certain addresses from only specific addresses ;)
