A number of us have it running on an AMD64. The problem is with the
installer, and last I checked had not been resolved, but there IS a
workaround. Install on another system, either to the hard drive you will
then move to the AMD64 (this was not an option for me, since the new
machine has a SATA drive and I have no SATA on any other machine, and
wasn't about to go out and buy a card), OR [what I did] install to a
partition on an existing machine - making sure the drive letter is what
you will eventually be using on the '64. Zip this up and put it on the
'64 machine, use dfsee/lvm to set up the partitions and boot manager, and
then boot from the eCS CD and unzip the boot partition.

The installer will make guesses based on the machine being used for the
install, but you can override these with the right choices for the '64
machine.
