When any habit or conditioned reflex serves survival in face of chronic and
physically inescapable/non-removable "primary" (any
environmental) or "secondary" (conditioned-in) 'motivator' of a
self-defeatingly distressful focus of actention (~states of futile suffering
or futile flight/fight activity), THEN the underlying (relevant and thus
enabling) aspect of a thus capable individual's DNA code tends to be
naturally selected for.
There are many sides to "Darwin's Diamond" (The Principle of Natural
Selection). So, for one, many factors *in combination* typically constitute
the selective situations faced (or 'gotten into') by individuals (in
populations) of our phylogeny.
I use this simple observation of complexity as a philosophical background;
one against which I can be more percEPTive in respect of the obvious
commonness of such primary and secondary "motivators" (as per above), and
the likewise obvious availablility and phylogenetic pattern-producing
significance of intrinsic (biochemical and morphysiological) and
environmental *opportunities* ["opportunity-type evolutionary pressures"]
for socioeconomically productive and (sooner or later) successfully
reproductive neural means of coping (brain-behaviourally) with such
"motivators" [i.e, both environmental and
"conditioned-in" sources of
potentially futile and destructive stress and ditto focuses of mental and/or
motor-behavioural activity/attention].
The correspondingly evolved phenotypic characteristics (most distinctly
apparent in/exemplified by the human phenotype) I represent (thanks to
fuzzsilly logic and stretchy semantics :) with the acronym AEVASIVE.
