Yeah that's his point... why back up an already infected drive, because when
you replace the backup, you only re-install the virus.

Absolute utter crap.  As stated a million an one time in this echo, a virus
can't do anything until executed.  How do you execute a deleted file?
Maybe if it's resisdent it can 'come back to life' but u never really
got rid of it in that case.
