That's about US$370. You paid too much. Why don't you try ordering
directly from the USA.
I did that about a year ago because I thought UK prices were too
steep. I ordered IBM Visual Age C++ for OS/2 from Indelible Blue in
North Carolina. When I registered that copy, IBM realised that their
UK-based resellers would be undersold by cheaper US-sourced copies, so
they prohibited all their resellers from exporting IBM products.
Sybase/Powersoft/Watcom don't have such a restriction, so you could
have bought from the USA -- or even the UK, where the compiler was also
fairly cheap.
I just bought the upgrade to Watcom C/C++ 11.0 for 90 quid. At that
price it wasn't worth the hassle of getting an import through customs.
