It's ok, thats why i mentioned IREX. Thats totally using what you seem to
¨already have at no extra cost, an IP connection. If you also want to be
able to ¨dial out via POTS, you will need to setup something like
FrontDoor. Almost no ¨one uses dial up to get fidonet packets anymore.
I'm one of the very few. ¨Unique circumstances due to Japan and it costs
me about 15$ a month in LD fees.
FrontDoor (FD) and IREX are both 'front ends'. IREX will want you to setup
at ¨least the directory structure of FD, but could care less if you
actually have ¨FD running. I used to have FD with IREX activated by event.
Others just used ¨IREX alone and activated FD when they wanted to dial
someone via POTS.
I'll have to hunt a bit, but I may still have sample batchfiles for that,
¨though they would be single-line DOS based (which I gather you are not).
If IREX doesnt suit you, take a look at ARGUS (Alternative new version
Raid? I ¨forget and am drawing a momentary blank but another will tell
you).
BTW, if you want to provide user accessable netmail in TG, you will need a
¨nodelist compiler that can translate it. I foget if it's version 6 or 7
but TG ¨is specific to one of the 2 and wont touch the other version.
QNODE is what I ¨use and I can get it to you somehow if you want to add
that later and cant find ¨a software to do it with. I do not have IP
connectivity on the BBS machine at ¨all and a dying floppy drive on the one
that does, but I could figure it out ¨eventually if it turns out to be a
problem for you finding a tool for that. It ¨would cost me about 10cents
to deliver via dialup to any spot that can (with ¨prior arrangement)
forward it to your IP based address for example. If you can ¨make that Bob
Seaborn, I can do it for 2cents. USA is possibly 10cents (higher ¨rates
for me). It's no bother at all, but it makes no sense to add it if you ¨do
not have a nodelisted number or at least a point.
