Hi there!:
          I've a little trouble with a computer running OS/2 Warp 3 with
fixpack 17 attached to a Tw.Pair Ethernet lan.
It's installed in dual boot mode, over an original DOS 6.22 Fat
partition. The computer connects perfectly with the Netware 4.01 server in
DOS 6.22.
I've installed the Netware Client 2.11 for OS/2 and selected the
standard NE2000.SYS driver. The card is a NE2000 compatible, with EPROM,
software-programmable. It has been tested (in DOS) in the following
configurations: (io 300, IRQ3, 9, 11) and worked fine in all cases.
But the OS/2 driver couldn't detect the card very well: after
reading the configuration (even if you specify it or not in NET.CFG) it
reports the card as being in IRQ3 (the default value).
After opening the desktop, os/2 reports the REQ0815 error wich is
fully documented in www.novell.com. I've tried all the solutions mentioned
there without success.
It seems that the driver isn't compatible with the cards (I've
tested 2 or 3 different manufactures).
Does anybody know anything about those soft-config. cards? And what
about an alternative driver? None of the cards bring any proprietary driver.
I'll really apreciate very much any info about this.
Thank you very much:
                                        Andr‚s Cianciaruso.
                                        Team OS/2 - [AC007]
