PE>> I had another one of those Zmodem errors this morning. I

AM> Getting back to these zmodem errors: were your packets
AM> actually cut off short because zmodem gave up? If you

Yes.

AM> connected with V42, then the problem is most likely at your
AM> end, unfortunately. What if one of us try sending you a

???

AM> decent sized file under the same system circumstances you'd
AM> have at that time in the morning?

??? The problem has occurred 3 times to date.

AM> On other old topic, the problem I had with uploading .reps
AM> failing on the first attempt seems to have gone, a few weeks
AM> ago. It seemed as though it'd never disappear, but went
AM> just as strangely as it appeared a few months ago.

That's good. I don't know what that was about. See if it comes back in
again though, because I'm not running under exec anymore.

AM> I do remember though, that at about the same time, the
AM> processing speed of the .reps went from instantaneous (all
AM> messages processed as fast as V32b could send the
AM> confirmation/details line for each message) to rather slow,

I wasn't aware of that.

AM> about the speed of a 2400 modem, as a guage. I don't know if
AM> you changed something in the OLR door or what, but it's
AM> still slow compared to what it used to be. :(

Would that have been when I opened up the limits on the messagebase?

AM> BTW, not much mail today. Know why?

You've only got local stuff today. Fortunately anyone who's anyone uses
this board anyway, so you have a stream of witty prose to peruse. BTW, I
woke up at about 10 or 11 am today, and arrived at work at 1.15PM, and left
at 11PM (12AM yesterday) so I am working strange hours which is why you
didn't have any luck ringing back in the afternoon. I left home with the
system still polling, but it reached it's poll limit with Dave being busy
all the time. This sucks, but that's life. BFN.
