Hi Keith,

I guess that the cost of UPS-freighting a refurbished 1400VA from USA 
--> AU, would probably be twice the cost of the unit, [assuming that 
230V-AC models were also available] due to their mass?

"Refurbishing" generally doesn't seem to be an available option in 
Australia - except notably in the area of pre-owned automobiles 
[secondhand, thirdhand etc.]

Due to no wildcard searches on hobbes - do you know the location there 
of those schematics files?  May be able to determine from that what 
other systems using the same signals could work with Powerchute?
