Sure.  You run lpd on the machine where the printer is locally attached. 
You need to run lprmon (there are other options, this works for me) on the
remote os2 machine from which you want to print.

I just use the -c and -b flags on lpd and run it minimized.

LPRMON takes parameters (it's in the tcpip docs):

-b -p epsonc80 -s maryjane lpt2

where:  -b - binary transfer
             -p gives the printer name
            -s gives the name of the system where the printer is attached
(this could be a numeric IP address)
             lpt2 is the printer port that will be intercepted and the
output sent to the remote system.

You don't need anything attached to lpt2, but you do need to install the
drivers for the printer and point them at lpt2
