Well, I'm no expert, and it may come down to "interpretation of words" as to
whether you "create a binary connetion" or you start a telnet session and turn
on "binary mode".

But https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc856 talks about Telnet Binary Transmission.

Thus, after connection, one side sends IAC DO TRANSMIT-BINARY, and the other
side responds IAC WILL TRANSMIT-BINARY - and the session is now 8 bit right?
