if the door is answered...

similar, yes... different platform and virtual modem software... i'm using
OS/2 and Ray Gwinn's SIO... i can also try from one of the windows boxen
that's running argus as well as using several port scanners to see what
actually shows up to the outside world...

oh! and on the firewall thing... what firewall? some will disable network
access when they are shutdown... this is to facilitate continued protection
while the firewall is not available... imagine something getting in before
the firewall gets loaded during the boot sequence...
