Actually, I've read from your series of posts.
1. Your hard drive has msdos from win98 boot files, no win98
directories or files. (if there are you haven't said).
2. You won't say if there is a windows sticker attached to your laptop
for proof of license. If there is not, then it is not licensed for
win98. If there was one and removed, whomever sold the laptop kept the
license for something else so no license.
3. It could originally had win3.1 on it but who knows?

Either that or I'm mixing threads.
