Two items have been discussed quite frequently on our Fido net.
The Texas made Me-262 and diesel engines. A lot of information is
available (with pictures) through this website on the InterNet.

This is on the presently being built Me-262s
 Producer: Texas Aircraft Factory
 P.O. Box 161606
 Ft. Worth, TX, USA, 76161
 Phone: (817) 626-9834
 Estimated Completion Date: Fall 1997
 Summary:
The TAF, owned and created by Herb Tischler, working out of Meacham
Field in Ft. Worth, Texas, has five Me 262's under construction.
Four of these will be two-seater and one being built as a single
seat fighter version. These aircraft will be built to original
factory specifications except where safety issues are concerned.
The avionics will be new technology but designed to look like old
 systems.
The Junkers Jumo 004 jet engines will be replaced by General
Electric J85-CJ-610 turbines. Since the J85 weights 1/5th the weight
of the Jumo 004, a special housing will be used inside the nacelle
to disguise the appearance of the J85 as well as bring the weight of
the two pieces up to the original Jumo 004 weight.
Further information will appear in future updates.
The following pictures of the plant are available for viewing
 or capture as .JPG pictures.
