WC>-> I have never owned a Packard Bell, MUCH smarter then that. And by the
WC>-> way In the late 40's I worked in a Radio Repair Shop and Packard Bells
WC>-> were CRAP them.

WC>Well the crap still operates just fine these 11 years later.
WC>I bridged two pins on the cheezy daughterboard modem
WC>regaining COM 1 replacing it with first an internal than external
WC>hardware modem.
WC>I added a Creative CD-ROM sound card combo which also still
WC>works fine.
WC>I upgraded the RAM but could use 2 32 Meg parity 72 pin FPM
WC>units to top it off.

 Wel lthe law of averages says that wil lhapen. BUT you are one of the
 luckly ones. Packard Bell computers stood out statistcily as the MOST
 FAILURE prone PC ever sold.
In it's early years rthe eMachines tried to capture that title but
failed. They did give it a good try before something chainged i nthe
mangement and they improved the machines.
