The economy is hardly a basket case, they are using gasoline prices to
throttle it. Every time things get going and we set a record month, within
a few weeks gas prices go nuts and the economy cools a little. I'm
convinced the FED and government is somehow manipulating gas prices instead
of using interest rates to regulate the economy. I even think they may be
using the whole Iran thing to do this now. With a simple speech the
administration can throw fear into the oil markets.

If gas prices stabilized at where the were 2 months ago, the economy would
be in maximum overdrive right now. It's ready to burst open but they are
keeping a lid on it via sucking money out of the system via the price of
gasoline.
