This is a bit simplistic (well the statement is fine, but the implication
that we are only seeing a "normal" number of islamist nutcases is
simplistic).

I'm very prepared to believe that islamists are fundamentally the same as
neocons or whatever - any difference is just due to their environments.
However, there is something in the islamist environment which leads many
people to think that suicide bombing is a cool idea. Not just the nutcases,
but their mothers and families as well.

Accepting other cultures is great, but if you value intellectual integrity
you have to acknowledge that some cultures are 300 years behind the rest of
us.
