Really what I > have been saying in regard to the Palestinians since the election. > Because the US has been involved from day 1 in supplying the Israelis with the cash & the means etc to do as they will with the Palestinians. The Palestinians are not yet sovereign e.g. who controls their airspace, coastal waters, borders etc. In fact where are their borders? When they are fully sovereign then the above would apply. If the US wants to push for this to happen then great but right now they are a people under foreign occupation by people who covet their land, water etc. & who wish to see them somewhere short of fully sovereign & if possible a vassal statelet much as South Africa created it's "bantustans". Where is their mil & to what degree can they defend their sovereignty? >> Indeed. They are recovering their nerve following the end of the cold >> war. > > Great place to have some nerve. Heck, now we have a Palestinian Government > that praises this and promises more. > & we have an Israeli gov which is shelling civilians areas of an occupied people. Where is the condemnation of that? It appears the present Israeli gov are getting praise for simply backing away from "eretz Israel" but the Palestinians adopting the same position "Eretz Palestine" are "condemned". Where was the condemnation when the Likud etc were practicing the establishment of eretz Israel by force via settlements & the concomitant expulsions of palestinians from their land? Oh now the US seems to be going "OK you can keep wot you nicked so long as it's big enough" & the Israelis are going "Quick let's completely surround & thus annex jerusalem & it's suburbs" & the US is saying nothing. Personally I dislike all political violence & would like it to be condemned whether it's D9 bulldozers, F16'es, 155 shells etc or bombs in cafes. A bit of "balance" would be nice e.g. it's OK for Israel to say "leave this area of habitation coz in 12 hours we're going to start shelling & then it's your own fault if you're a civie & you're hurt" thus it should be OK for Hamas to say "leave this area of habitation coz in 12 hours we're going to start bombing & then it's your own fault if you're a civie & you're hurt". An explosive device is an explosive device. Dead civies are dead civies. Fine so if you dislike suicide bombers etc so much then ship the the Palestinians MLRS, 155 artillery, MANPAD & MANPAT systems etc. etc. I'm sure the Palestinians would prefer some batteries of MLRS protected by Patriot, stinger, ground launched hellfire etc to suicide bombers. Would you have a problem with that? Artillery duels can replace the current artillery on one side, human bombs on the other & each can be asked to clearly announce which areas of habitation they will be targeting say 12 hours in advance.
