Why is it obsolete? _Commodore_ is dead, but not Amiga Technologies GmbH
(Parent company is ESCOM), which bought the technology and is very much alive
and producing new A4000 towers and A1200's, along with parts for all previous
Amigas, including his A2000.
Is a 486 that obsolete? Or even a 386? Maybe, if you have the money to plunk
down for a Pentium, but for most home users, those machines are satisfactory,
just as the A2000 or Mac is satisfactory to some. Different strokes, you
ow?
As someone who _owns_ two PCs, three Amigas and a Mac and works
professionally with all three, I see comments like that as coming from those
who are insecure with their _sole_ choice, so that they need to berate
anything different than their own systems as being "obsolete". I only wish PC
owners could not be so tunnel visioned and see that the PC is not the only
platform out there.
I think his asking trade is fair for a basic used heli setup. Additionally,
he should be able to ask the going price for used Amiga 2000's (locally as
well as the Amiga sale echos) of at least $400US just for the Amiga alone,
with no extras. With the extras he has, he could ask in upwards of six to
seven hundred and get it _easily_. I have first hand experience buying and
selling them.
