Yep, looks like a bug in the manual.  It's not actually listed as a
keyword or in the online help, but it is mentioned in the printed manual
under "POKE, POKEI, POKEL, POKE$".  I'm just guessing, but it looks like
something they intended to put in, but didn't because pointers kind of
make POKE obsolete anyway.  For instance:
    dim YourPtr as word ptr
    YourPtr = varptr32(YourWord??)    'get address.  No DEF SEG needed!
    @YourPtr = 5                      'poke 5 into the address
    print YourWord??                  'YourWord?? = 5
FWIW, there are one or two similar discrepancies between the online help
and the manual, and the online help always seems to be more accurate.
