In the past my experience with USRobotics, about eight years now, is
that they do give their registered users a chance to sign up for free
upgrade when it deals with just ROM upgrades.  However, if this upgrade
will require more than just a SDL, perhaps a daughter board change (I'm
not saying it will) I'm sure there will be a charge.
