subject: plonk a cakey kiss

Very British slang. Plonked would suggest "heavily or carelessly" (Oxford
Dictionary) and cakey is slang for over-sweet in demeanor. So in more
conventional English we might say "she sloppily kissed her forehead". But I
think the slang version gives more flavour of British working class.
