subject: Toolkit 3.0 Problem

Ho, Dave--

I posted a reply to yours of 11/29 to the OS/2 Shareware BBS local
Private conference, as I figured that most of it wasn't of interest to
the others on this echo. But this follow-up item may be:

As mentioned, I sent an Internet e-mail message to DevCon describing
the test demonstrating the bug in WarpTlkt when compiling a REXX
extended-function DLL (no, I didn't quote your findings, as I had sent
it before downloading yours of the 29th). Received a reply dated 12/3
saying that several others had reported the same problem, and that "we
have had the same problems in creating those DLLs" and that they have
"passed my note to the appropriate developer."! The test run I
submitted was against the REXXUTIL.DLL the sample program in the
Toolkit. I gues Product Test (if it still exists) doesn't bother with
DevCon-distributed products!

Do you think "the appropriate developer" will have any more trouble
than you had in finding the source of the problem? :) Perhaps the fix
will be on Devcon 6. Or, at least with the GA release of CSet++ 3! In
the meantime, I have edited APIENTRY into the appropriate places in
WarpTlkt REXXSAA.H, and have a home-brewed "dual desktop boot" based on
two Alt-F1 "Archive" files. I can boot for either WarpTlkt or Toolkt21
(loading both the desktop and CONFIG.SYS) depending on which archive I
pick after an "Alt-F1" at the OS/2 white rectangle.

BTW, I picked up "Structured Programming Using PL/1 and SP/k" by
Hume and Holt (1975). It was a buck in the local library's "donated
books for sale" section. Couldn't resist the bargain.

    All the best.
