All the folks I know that have scanners couldn't really care less what they 
tune
into, you just don't go around telling the local police what you're doing.

True.  I bet you have them programmed into your scanner though? .

Mmm, now you're talking.  My father in law has it at the moment.  It's
definately a Realistic (TANDY) but I can't remember the model number.  It 
cover
all frequencies from 25mhz to around 512mhz with a gap here and goes up to
1300mhz like yours.
I am only using a portable aerial plugged into the back of the set at the
moment but I hope to buy one of those witches hats from Tandy, around fifty
quid.

It's about 2 miles from Loch Lomond, about 15 miles from Glasgow and
approximately 8000 miles from the Falkland Ilsands .
