When you were setting up the news server did you setup it up so there is no
ending on the message id?  I am working with the author of pan to track
down the reason why some of my messages don't thread up here.  He said it
is caused by Outlook express putting a dot at the end of the message id.

Such as:
  X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1437
  X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2800.1441
  Message-ID: 

But seemed like I remember that you might have changed that some time back
for privacy.  Just don't want him chasing after something that might be
done on purpose here.
