As I've said before, I really liked DS9.  I was impressed once it became
clear it wasn't going to be "let's jump into the wormhole and see what we
find this week" type of show.

I like how they went into the family backgrounds of the characters more
than any other series (at least it seemed that way to me).  The
characters seemed more human since you got to see the "non-hero" side of
them.

And Sisko was not to be messed with.  After all, he was Shaft in a past
life. ;)
