subject: Storing directories

AC> Using Rexx or a simple cmd file, I want to be able to
 AC> store the name of my current drive and directory so
 AC> that I can change back to the same place after
 AC> executing a program that needs to be run from a

SETLOCAL saves the current working drive and directory and the current
values of the OS/2 environment variables that are local to the current
process. To restore these values, use the ENDLOCAL function.

SETLOCAL and ENDLOCAL both return a value of 1 if successful or 0 if
unsuccessful. If SETLOCAL is not followed by an ENDLOCAL function in a
procedure, then the initial environment saved by SETLOCAL will be restored
upon exiting the procedure.

SETLOCAL and ENDLOCAL functions can be nested.

So you could do something like this...

/* save current settings */

n = SETLOCAL()

/* now do whatever you need to do */

/* restore settings */

n = ENDLOCAL()
