VN> MR> Back on subject, I have yet to see a horse doctor around here that
VN> MR> wasn't a LARGE animal vet. Do you know any in the Sacramento,
VN> MR> Stockton, Elk Grove, Placer area??
VN> We have several vets around here that have clinics
VN>that specialize in horses, generally they are so pricey
VN>ands exclusive that horses are the ONLY animal they deal
VN>with. And they will usually accept volunteers ANY TIME!
I found out something very interesting about equine exclusivity around here
while we were waiting to see how Phoenix would react to her Banamine
injection. I found out that if a vet is exclusively equine, the insurance
is sky high, versus being a large animal vet whose clientele is primarily
equine. Apparently, the liability part of the insurance hinges on the
probability of a law suit. How many cow owners are likely to sue over
losing their $700 steer? It is far more likely that a rider with sue over
the loss of her $15,000 show horse.
