The regular 20g has more water surface area than the tall 20g, making it
a slightly safer tank during a power failure.  It also has more bottom
surface area, yielding more room for bottom feeders & substrate spawners.
If you are keeping small tetras and your fish load is not too high, then
IMO, it's mostly a question of which is more appealing to you.
