Nope, it meets applicable exceptions to these laws, and the patriot act
reauthorization of 2006 changed the law to make it even more clear that
this meets those exceptions. Further, we don't know if they had the FBI
issue a letter for the records which is another way under the patriot act
that gathering the records would be possible. The FBI is free pursuant to
current law to share the records they get in this manner with other
agencies including the NSA.
