*** Quoting DAN LAFLIN from a message to Shawn Vanderburgt ***
DL> Zebra DANIOS yes, there are other fish called Zebras too, but
DL> if their Danios, yup, nippers.
Ah, that explains the conflicting advice here then... somebody else says
Zebras are not nippers - I guess he missed the Danio bit. :>
DL> Did you tell the store you were going put em in with BETTAS? If
DL> so, take the danios back and exchange for other fish, or refund,
DL> since it is well known bettas and those that are apt to nip
DL> don't go together.
I did, and they didn't advise me of any conflicts, which I was very
disappointed about. I went back a few days ago to the same store, and they
said they were very surprised at that, and that they in fact often keep a
male betta in their Zebra Danio tank when they have some.
DL> If you didn't tell em, too bad, a respectable and knowledgable
DL> store would have told you that Danios might nip the Bettas fins.
I'm not terribly impressed with the fish from that store, so I won't
likely get more from there. My pleco that I bought from there a few weeks
ago just died with no explanation - see my next message asking about that.
So the bottom line is, if I want another male betta (and I do), I need
to get rid of the Zebra Danios, or separate them?
Thanks for your help. :>
