Makes sense though, with the rule of thumb that you need something over 200
hp to reach 150 mph in a small modern shape car.

I was watching a "Best of Top Gear" show tonight, talking about
the Mclaren-Mercedes SLR. 650-odd hp, in a small car, capable of 208 mph.
The point that amused me was that if you were able to keep it at top speed
long enough, you would empty the 21 (25 US) gallon tank in 19 minutes...
