Actually the "Splash Screen" is located in the IO.SYS file, That is why 
it is SO BIG compared to MS-DOS IO.SYS and MSDOS.SYS files.

If you create a Floppy System Disk from Win98 (or Win 95) from the 
Control Panel's Add Remove Programs Icon, you will see the "Splash 
Screen" when you boot the Floppy.
