Actually, there is no significant calorie content in beer. The weight gain
is caused by eating while intoxicated. The liver has to choose between
metabolising the alcohol and metabolising the blood sugars from the food,
and it chooses the alcohol. The blood sugar gets stored as fat. I make it a
rule never to eat while drinking. I don't gain weight, and I need to drink
less to get plaistered. Win/win.
